Who Is Sharon Byrne?
Sharon Byrne has been the top residential Real Estate agent in the Capital District and Saratoga Springs for more than a decade, with a volume of $40 million this past year.
Licensed first as an agent and shortly afterward as a broker, Sharon has committed her life to what she cares most about - her family, her friends, and her career.
Sharon grew up in the suburbs just outside of New York City. She graduated from St. Johns University with a BA in English and a minor in education & Psychology. Her master's and doctoral credits were earned at Hofstra Temple University as a Reading Specialist in the field of special education.
Sharon and her husband Jim settled in Saratoga Springs, New York in 1970 where he opened a practice as an Orthodontist and they began a family. That family consists of six children. Their oldest son, Greg is a practicing attorney/CPA and was married this summer. He and his wife, also an attorney, live in Boston. Their daughter Margot lives in Burlington, Vermont, where she works for a large pharmaceutical firm. Her husband is an orthopedic surgery resident at Fletcher Allen. They had their first baby, a daughter this summer. Kristen graduated from medial school in May and married in July, with a true "Saratoga Wedding" the opening weekend of racing. They are living in Utah for a year where she is doing a residency but will be returning to Manhattan for Radiology Residency in the spring of 2001. Brian graduated from dental school in May 2000, married in June and he began Orthodontic school in Buffalo, soon to join his father's practice.
His wife is a pedodontist and will also practice in the area. Elizabeth graduated from Cornell, was captain of the women's tennis team and went on to law school. She presently passed Connecticut & New York State bar exams and is clerking for the State Supreme Court in Connecticut. Her fiancée graduated from Cornell and plays hockey for the Los Angeles Kings. Allison, the youngest daughter, graduated from Cornell and is presently in her third year of dental school. She hopes to continue her education as an Endodontist and return to the Capital District.
All of her children have been licensed and worked in the real estate profession over the years.
Sharon's true love and avocation was real estate and although she tutored and consulted in the field of education as her children grew up, her hobby was to buy, sell & renovate older homes. She and her husband Jim purchased and renovated several historic buildings and it was during this period that she decided to pursue a real estate license so that she could help others find home that fit their needs. They currently live in a large old Victorian near Skidmore College, which they renovated over a 5-year time frame.
Her specialties include corporate relocation and new construction, as well as helping clients accomplish their goals of buying and selling homes.
Sharon attained the IRM designation of a certified New Home Sales Professional and has been the Sales & Marketing Director for the largest Custom Home Builders, Belmonte Builders, for 14 years.
Sharon's strength comes from her ability to listen to what people say and interpret their needs quickly & accurately making the transition as easy and pleasant as possible for both buyers and sellers. She has built a large referral business over the years because of her innate honesty and her compassion for the needs of her clients. She carries a portable so that her customers can reach her at any time. Although she works with a personal assistant, Jackie Disonell who has also been a licensed real estate agent for over 15 years, there is never a time when a customer cannot get Sharon directly. Personal service is Sharon's trademark!!
Sharon and her family love the lifestyle that the Capital Region, Saratoga Springs, and the Adirondacks have to offer. She owns a home on Lake Placid where they love to hike, ski, fish and swim. They enjoy the culture, theatre and artistry present in the region and encourage others to take a serious look at the area as well!
